Poor planning, blame-shifting, a lack of textbooks, and school furniture have been identified as contributing to poor learner performance in the ||Kharas Region during the first half of this year.

This was revealed at a Keetmanshoop gathering where principals, heads of departments, school board members, and parents dissected the first academic semester results.

Other factors cited as contributing to the poor performance are non-completion of syllabi, lack of basic skills in writing, reading, and mathematics, and non-mastering of basic competencies.

The Deputy Minister of Education, Faustina Caley, ||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick, and ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson, Joseph Isaack, also addressed the gathering.
