Kavango East Regional Governor Bonifatius Wakudumo also shared developments made in the health sector.
Wakudumo shared these during the State of the Region Address in Rundu.
"To this end, the Shamaturu Clinic and Biro prefabricated clinic structures have been completed and are to be commissioned soon. Furthermore, Mabushe Clinic secured the land, obtained the title deed, and an environmental impact assessment was done for the relocation of the clinic to the high ground. Moreover, minor renovation of the current high care ward, the installation of water cooling system in the casualty's Outside Patient Department (OPD), and installation of works for the restoration of the incinerator we carried out successfully in Rundu Intermediate Hospital."
The governor added that the installation of oxygen plants at Andara, Nyangana, and Rundu Intermediate Hospital was completed and commissioned.
Wakudumo requested that budgetary provisions be made for the construction of intensive care units at Andara and Nyangana district hospitals.
He also wants the feasibility study to construct a referral hospital in the region to be prioritised in the 2025/26 financial year.
