Boxing fans gathered at the Windhoek Country Club & Resort in anticipation of the WBA Pan African Featherweight title fight between Namibian Mateus Heita and South African Thato Bonokoane.

Moving up a division from super bantamweight to featherweight, Mateus "The Beast" Heita was on a quest to become champion again.

This quest was ultimately accomplished last evening in what seemed to be an easy run for Heita.

Bonokoane struggled to withstand Heita's body shots, which eventually led him to take a knee and call it quits in the third round.

The newly crowned WBA Pan Africa Featherweight Champion shared a few words after his victory.

His promoter, Nestor Tobias, spoke about what's next for the champion.

This fight marked the first title defense for Mateus Heita in the featherweight division and the last for South Africa's Thato Bonokoane.

Bonokoane confirmed his retirement from boxing on social media, stating that his best days are over and it's now time for him to call it a day, marking the end of an era.
