Residents of Otjiwarongo Constituency have been urged to give the Swapo Party another mandate to ensure continued development in the region. This call was made by Marlene Mbakera, the assigned Swapo Party Leader for the Otjozondjupa Region, during a mini rally held at the Kalkfeld Settlement.

Mbakera emphasized the government's ongoing commitment to development, highlighting the provision of N$10 million in the current financial period. She mentioned that these funds have enabled various projects, including the construction of water reticulation systems in Gam and Okandjira, as well as the upgrading of informal settlements in Kalkfeld. Specifically, N$2.5 million has been allocated to Kalkfeld Settlement for water provision in the Dinosdal location and the new Kalkfeld Extension 1, also known as "Kap n Bou."

Furthermore, 310 plots have been serviced in the settlement, along with the upgrading of the sewerage ponds. In Otjiwarongo, Mbakera reported the construction of seven new primary and secondary schools over the past decade.

"Swapo Party has delivered. All we ask is for your trust to continue delivering more. Swapo will keep working to create a safe and peaceful environment for all Namibians, allowing families to thrive and communities to grow. Namibia remains one of the most stable countries in the region, and Swapo Party is the only party that can guarantee that peace and stability," Mbakera stated.

She also reaffirmed that the regional development agenda is on track to restore Kalkfeld's Village Council status, which was downgraded in 1996 due to a lack of economic activity.
