More than 20 national darts players and management have been camping in Windhoek before their departure to Eswatini.

According to Buks Blaauw, President of the Namibian Darts Federation, the players who raised funds to make the trip to Eswatini possible. 

Players of various age groups, from youth to veterans, managed to fund their trip to compete in the championship.

All players were responsible for covering their own expenses, including transport, accommodation, affiliation fees, and spending money. 

According to President Blaauw, the last time the Federation received assistance from the Namibia Sports Commission was seven years ago, with an amount of N$20,000.

Blaauw mentioned that they wrote to the Sports Commission requesting assistance but were later informed that no funds were available.

He also stated that they sought financial support from various companies, but were told their request was too late due to the cut-off for the financial period.

Blaauw further noted that while the government provided a bus, the players had to pay for fuel themselves.
