The Popular Democratic Movement Youth League (PDMYL) is celebrating the achievements scored by the youth at the just-concluded congress of the party.

A significant number of youth league members were elected to the central committee, which they regard as a breakthrough in youth ascending to the political decision-making organs of the party.

The league explained that the youth have shown great dedication and hard work and are therefore looking forward to bringing fresh ideas.

Those who were elected to the Central Committee are Maximalliant Katjimune, already a Member of Parliament; Roberto Dirkse; Turipamue Kazenango; Winnie Moongo, another youth MP; Gabriella Stadhauer; Yvette Araes; and Vakamuina Kamutuezu, among others.

The league says their election shows the party's trust in young people and a vision for a better future for Namibia.

The league commended the congress participants, saying it was held in a peaceful, democratic, and well-organised manner.

They say the mission now is to continue working together to strengthen the party, connect with communities, and promote the party's message across the country.

It also congratulated the new delegates chosen to the Central Committee during the just concluded.

Rodman Katjaimo also made it to the Central Committee, among many other youth league members.
