The Electoral Commission of Namibia has presented its provisional voter register, following a process of verification.

This process led to a decrease in the number of registered voters by 13,600 following the detection of multiple registrations.

Registered voters now stand at one million, 451,444 from 1,153,916 initially recorded at the close of the General Registration of Voters, which ended in August.

The decline was caused by multiple registrations of 13,685.

The top five regions that have the highest provisional turnout are Kunene at 97 percent, Oshana at 96 percent, and Omusati at 94 percent, while Erongo and Ohangwena recorded provisional turnout at 93 percent.

The margin between female and male registered is 118,210.

Over 641,000 youth between the ages of 18 and 34 were also at the registration points.

Political parties and entities were given copies of the provisional turnout.
