The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is conducting a mock verification exercise of its enhanced and upgraded Integrated Mobile Voter Registration System (IMVRS).
This exercise is a key step in the preparations for the upcoming 2024 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The primary aim of this exercise is to test the real-time functionality and usability of the voter verification module, which is a crucial component of the newly enhanced IMVRS. By leveraging mobile technology, the upgraded system is designed to make voter verification more efficient on polling day.
This two-day mock exercise started this morning and will end tomorrow at 16:00 at different venues.
De Wet Siluka said that this exercise is necessary to ensure the system's functionality and readiness before its actual rollout during the coming elections.
