The ongoing infighting in SWANU of Namibia has taken another turn as the party's 8ste Laan branch has proceeded to hold congress on its own.

The former President of SWANU, Usutuaije Maamberua, and the former Vice President, Asnath Nuwuses, were present at the meeting, where representatives from various branches, including Otjimbingwe, Epukiro, Eiseb, Aminuis, Grootfontein, Gobabis, Katutura Central, and Otjiwarongo, were present.

This gathering was taking place despite party leader Evalistus Kaaronda declaring the meeting null and void to nbc News.

Kaaronda said that SWANU will be in the Omaheke Region, hosting the party's first regional conference.

The branch’s decision to proceed with the congress signals the deepening of divisions and a growing rift within SWANU, highlighting the ongoing struggles for unity and leadership in the party.

The congress discussions are currently in progress and will be accessible to both SWANU members and the general public.
