The Leader of the Landless People's Movement (LPM), Bernadus Swartbooi, has pledged to address key issues such as malnutrition, access to agricultural land, water, and electricity if elected in the upcoming November 27 election.

Swartbooi emphasised that malnutrition is a critical issue requiring immediate attention. He believes the solution lies in strengthening the agricultural sector, a cornerstone of the LPM's manifesto.

Additionally, Swartbooi pointed out the shortage of secondary schools in the Omaheke Region, stressing the need for more institutions to support youth development.

"As leaders, we’ve stressed the lack of education, which hinders the growth of our young people in this region. Another critical issue is land. Much of the land that was taken from the Tswana communities has left many people crowded on small plots. This overcrowding leads to land degradation and makes it difficult for them to farm on a scale that sustains their livelihoods," he said.

Swartbooi also commended the youth for their strong participation in voter registration ahead of the election.

"I am very proud of our young people and how they have taken the initiative during the registration process for the November 27 election. I urge them to continue this momentum as we approach election day," he added.
