WorldSkills Japan has been selected to host the 49th WorldSkills Competition, following an uncontested bid.

The event will be held in Aichi after an overwhelming vote of support from WorldSkills members.

The bid, presented by WorldSkills Japan, was centred around the theme of "compact and impactful." The competition will take place at Aichi Sky Expo, with nearby hotels and easy access to national and international transport links.

WorldSkills Japan aims to attract 300,000 visitors, including students, to inspire the next generation.

The bid also emphasised Japan’s alignment with WorldSkills' goals, focussing on training, sustainability, and industry partnerships.
