The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) is hosting the National Ministerial Health Conference in Windhoek to identify gaps and make recommendations to improve health services.
The 5-day conference is being attended by senior health officials from all 14 regions of the country to learn from successful interventions to overcome operational challenges and achieve strategic goals.
"These discussions are not just formalities but are essential to crafting actionable and effective strategies that will guide policy and implementation at all levels. The success of this conference hinges on your active participation and engagement. As senior managers, you are the architects of our health and social welfare systems. Your insights, experiences, and vision are invaluable, and it is through your leadership that we can translate dialogue into actionable plans that resonate with the needs of our communities," said Deputy Health Minister, Dr. Utjiua Muinjangue.
In his address, the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, urged the participants to engage in constructive discussions as they work towards quality public health service.
"I urge you to engage in constructive discussion as we work towards strengthening existing or developing new policies that promote public health, enhance quality healthcare access, and ultimately ensure positive health outcomes. Together, we can build on a comprehensive framework that not only addresses immediate health challenges but also anticipates future needs."
The outcomes of the conference will be presented at the Ministerial Steering Committee for consideration.
