Namibia's Vice President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has reiterated the government's commitment to better people's lives through infrastructure development.

She said this at the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Home Affairs and Immigration office for the ||Kharas Region.

"Therefore, by bringing service closer to the people, it is to ensure that no one is left out, and to ensure true unity in diversity where all Namibians will live together in harmony  No doubt, the Swapo Party led government has been delivering through infrastructure development in all corners of our Republic. You can talk about roads, you can talk about offices,  you can talk about school infrastructure, as well as health facilities, water , electricity, networks, and many others. This approach ensures equal treatment to all communities of Namibia, for our people to appreciate their hard won independence and to protect it at all times"

The regional office will provide national documents and strengthen immigration control.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah underscored the importance of children's birth registration at hospitals  to prevent undocumented persons who are born in Namibia.

"What we have to know is unregistered children who later in their lives are not really able to access the information required, so we must make it our national responsibility. And I am also calling on the parents, mothers, and parents to make it your responsibility also before you leave the hospital that you require that birth certificate."

Nandi-Ndaitwah reminded  staff to render effective and quality service.

Also speaking at the event was ||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick.

"As we embarked on this new chapter with the establishment of the ||Kharas Regional Office, let's remember that it is not merely an office ,  but a beacon of hope for our communities , a place where safety means accessibility and where every individual can feel empowered by their government."
