Magistrate Vicky Nikolaidis has postponed the case of seven individuals accused of murdering NUST student Matheus Sheehama at Walvis Bay, to next week.

The seven suspects made a second court appearance, and their case was postponed to the 22nd and 23rd of October for a formal bail application.

The state prosecutor revealed that there are still MTC phone records and DNA results needed to aid the prosecution's case that are outstanding.

Among the seven suspects is Sheehama's girlfriend at that time, Jessica !Gaes and her brother Jimmy !Gaeb.

The others include !Gaes' ex-boyfriend 24-year-old Michael Awaseb, Marvin Wapota, Romano Paulus, and Enrico Gomachab, who are all 20 years old, as well as 18-year-old Moses Kandume.

It is alleged that Sheehama was attacked and killed at a braai held at !Gaes' house on July 27, and his body was dumped at sea days later.

Meanwhile, the criminal case shocked the residents of the harbour town, whose interest has escalated since the alleged murder happened two months ago.

Friends, family, and community members packed the courtroom when the seven suspects made their second appearance and demanded justice for the slain student.

They further held another peaceful protest outside the court to appeal to the magistrate not to grant bail to the suspects.
