A Zambian national arrested on Monday in connection with the murder of a teacher in the Greenwell Matongo location in March made a first court appearance on Wednesday before the Katima Mulilo Magistrate's court.

27-year-old Likando Kangombe faces four charges: murder of 42-year-old Calvin Sibuku Sinyepe, robbery, possession of suspected stolen property, and having been found in Namibia without a permit.

It is alleged that the accused shot and killed Sinyepe in front of his gate on the 2nd of March.

He is the only suspect arrested in connection with Sinyepe's murder more than seven months ago.

Three suspects were arrested on the same day of the murder for an attempted break-in to a neighbour's house.

They were however not linked to the murder.

Kangombe's case has been postponed to 23 December for him to secure legal representation and further police investigations.

He opted to secure a private lawyer.
