Michael Amushelelo set tyres alight in front of the Ministry of Labour and Employment Creation on Friday morning.

The Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) member has called out the Ministry, accusing it of neglecting critical issues affecting the nation’s workforce. On his social media platforms, Amushelelo said the ministry failed to uphold the provisions of the Labour Act, which mandates protection and fair treatment for all Namibian employees.

Amushelelo has been outspoken about the urgent need for action, citing incidents where workplace safety measures have been ignored, leading to fatalities and injuries.

To draw attention to these issues, he participated in a symbolic protest outside the Ministry of Labour’s offices, where tyres were burnt as a call for immediate intervention to protect workers’ lives.
