Political parties that attended a stakeholders event organised by the Electoral Commission of Namibia have called for thorough training of polling officials on the importance of handling election material.

They complained about polling officials, whom they accused of negligence.

The meeting with the ECN was attended by the ADM, APP, PDM, LPM, and the Swapo Party.

During a question-and-answer session, representatives of particularly the PDM and Swapo recounted their past experiences with polling officials and demanded improvement. To foster a democratic process that is inclusive, fair, and accountable.

ECN's Electoral Officer for the Kavango East Region, Sifire Pailus, assured politicians that the Commission has been hard at work to ensure another successful election.

A voter education campaign started in September under the theme "Put your voice in the ballot box."
