Seven cases were heard at the newly constructed Hoachanas Periodical Court today.

In a statement, the Office of the Judiciary said today's hearings signify the full operationalisation of the periodical court and mark the beginning of a new era for the Hoachanas community and the entire Hardap Region.

Present at the hearings were the Executive Director of the Office of the Judiciary, Benhardt Kukuri, and the Deputy Director of the Lower Courts, Simona Coetzee, along with staff members from the office.

The cases were presented before Magistrate Immanuel Udjombala.

The Hoachanas Periodical Court is located 55 kilometres northeast of Kalkrand, in the Hardap Region, and was officially inaugurated by Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on 13 September 2024.
