Members of the Namibian Police, from various departments in all 14 regions, recently completed a disciplinary hearing workshop at Rundu.

The training is meant to enhance the level of integrity, fairness, and accountability in the Namibian Police Force.

Speaking on behalf of Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo was Commissioner Andreas Shilelo, the Regional Commander for Zambezi Region.

"The importance of all this knowledge that you got is implementation. Nothing else but implementation.  I urge you to put into practice the lessons learnt here. Be fair, be diligent, and be steadfast in your duty to uphold the principles of justice and accountability. It is true that we should separate criminal cases from the institutional discipline. It is very important."

Workshop facilitator, Dr. Brian Nalisa, urged all police members to obey the rules and regulations.

"The issue of detoxing the workstation starts with all supervisors at all levels and the employees of any organisation, and so the police, in particular, are under obligation to obey the rules and regulations of the employer, and the purpose is to ensure that performance goes up and the morale goes up."
