The Republican Party's (RP) Regional Coordinator for the Zambezi Region, Charles Lizazi, says his party is the only party in Namibia that has not made promises to the electorate.

He made the remarks at Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region.

According to Lizazi, the RP has plans to eradicate poverty and unemployment by using fertile land in the Zambezi and Kavango regions.

He said RP will focus on the green schemes in the three regions as one of the key economic development priorities if it is elected into power on Wednesday.

"There is nothing else in this country that can create jobs apart from agriculture and tourism, more especially in the two regions. The Caprivi region has fertile land where plans can be made to introduce green schemes and employ a lot of young people who are jobless and those roaming the streets to chase hunger away. We can produce a lot of food here, where we are not going to depend on drought relief, which we keep on waiting for for three to four months."

Lizazi is calling on Namibians to hold hands with the Republican Party for a better future for Namibia.

"They should rally and give a vote for the Republican Party; this is the only party that does not give promises; we don't give promises. This is the only party that has plans to implement; positive results will come out of plans that have. We have been crying for a long time, so this is the time to make a change and take swift action to change a direction, and the only direction you have to face is the Republican Party because it is the only party that does not come to people and promise them; it is the only party not responsible for whatever is happening in this country. We stood up; we want to bring change; we cannot let people cry for the rest of their lives."

The RP official has also called on Namibians to refrain from tribalism, nepotism, and regionalism.
