President Nangolo Mbumba has applauded Namibians for their patience and calm during the elections, as he extended the voting period at selected polling stations.
Dr. Mbumba extended the voting period on recommendations of the Electoral Commission of Namibia.
The statement from the Presidency says President Mbumba has therefore amended Proclamation No. 28 of 26 September 2024 by extending the period for the election.
This means that voting would take place until the 30th of November at 21h00, subject to Section 93(3) of that Act.
The Presidency says President Mbumba is committed to upholding the country's Constitution, including the right of every citizen who has reached the age of 18 years to vote.
