For the first time, the Windhoek Magistrates' Court will offer speed point payment options for bail and maintenance orders.

This will make the payment process more convenient and accessible for everyone.

The announcement was made during First National Bank's donation, which included display screens at the Windhoek Magistrates' Court in Katutura.

The process will promote prompt access to justice and reinforce public confidence in the legal system.

It will also help clients avoid carrying large amounts of cash.

Executive Director of the Office of the Judiciary, Benhardt Kukuri, said, "We are creating an environment where we really don't carry so much cash around court; court is the place where you win or lose a case, and when directed by the judicial office, you go and pay. We want to make it easier for you to swipe. Some people have substantial funds in their accounts and can swipe N$3 million. We do not want them to carry that large amount of cash to court."

The donated screens will be used for multiple purposes, displaying court rolls and essential judicial information for the public.

The speed points will be rolled out to all designated courts nationwide.
