President Nangolo Mbumba and First Lady Sustjie Mbumba visited the grave site of Cuba’s revolutionary leader and former President Fidel Castro Ruz at the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery in Santiago de Cuba.

It is also where national hero José Martí is buried.

The first couple paid homage to the late Commander in Chief Castro and national hero José Martí, who died in 2016 and 1895, respectively.

Throughout the four-day state visit, President Mbumba commended the leadership and people of the island nation while reiterating Namibia’s solidarity and calls for the lifting of the economic blockade imposed by the US six decades ago.
