The Cuban Embassy marked the ninth anniversary of the death of the late leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, by placing a wreath on Fidel Castro Street in Windhoek.

The Cuban Embassy in Namibia marked what would have been Fidel Castro's 99th birthday with a tribute and celebrated his role in Namibia's path to independence.

President Nangolo Mbumba and First Lady Sustjie Mbumba visited the grave site of Cuba’s revolutionary leader and former President Fidel Castro Ruz at the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery in Santiago de Cuba.

It is also where national hero José Martí is buried.
