The National Fishing Corporation of Namibia (Fishcor), through its subsidiary Seaflower, has joined the national fight against drought by donating 14 tonnes of fish to the Namibia Governor's Forum.
Established in 1994, Fishcor entered a joint venture with Nordic Partners, leading to the creation of Seaflower Whitefish Corporation Limited, which operates a wet fish processing facility in Luderitz.
The donation will be distributed across all 14 regions of Namibia, with each region receiving 100 boxes of fish.
James Uerikua, Chairperson of the Namibia Governor's Forum, has called on private sector entities and individuals to contribute to drought relief efforts across the country.
Fishcor CEO Alex Gawa!nab indicated that the contribution underscores the company's dedication to addressing pressing social challenges in Namibia, says Gawanab.
The donation will target vulnerable communities.
