Erongo Governor Neville Andre and Swakopmund Mayor Blasius Goraseb have expressed satisfaction with the positive impact of visitors in the region.

They say the influx of tourists significantly boosted the local tourism sector and the overall economy. 

Tourism has become a key driver of growth in the Erongo Region, with Swakopmund being a major attraction. 

Governor Andre says this positive outlook reflects confidence in the sector's continued role in creating jobs, generating revenue, and promoting the region's cultural and natural heritage.

Andre encouraged the region's young people and business owners to tap into their creativity to attract more visitors beyond the festive season. 

He also emphasised the importance of innovation in offering unique experiences, events, and promotions that can make the region stand out. 

The mayor of Swakopmund emphasised that he does not take for granted visitors to the town.

Swakopmund is known for its scenic beaches, historical architecture, adventure activities like dune boarding and quad biking, and proximity to the Namib Desert and the Skeleton Coast, all of which contribute to its status as a sought-after travel spot.
