Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has emphasised value addition to Namibia's resources as part of the long-term plan for the country to become a logistics hub in the SADC region.

Nandi-Ndaitwah held talks with China's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, where she stated that this is a clear indication that the two countries are eager to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in these and other areas of common interests.

Nandi-Ndaitwah recalled the crucial agreement the presidents of the two countries made in 2018 to advance their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

She expressed gratitude for the Communist Party of China's delegation, which observed last year's elections, noting it symbolises the enduring friendship between Namibia and China.

Minister Wang commented on China's diplomatic tradition of prioritising Africa for his first overseas visit each year, highlighting the historical ties shared between China and African nations, particularly during their struggles for independence.
