The office of the Omaheke Governor, with the help of commercial farmers, has acquired 21 goats to address malnutrition in the region.

Speaking at the Cheetah Conservation Foundation in the Otjozondjupa Region, Pijoo Nganate maintained that finding sustainable solutions to curb malnutrition in the region remains one of the key priorities.

Nganate said 13 young people were trained at the Foundation on how to produce multifarious products from goat milk that will be distributed to 34 soup kitchens.

The Founder and Executive Director of the foundation, Dr. Laurie Marker, assured the Governor that the milk goat will significantly add value to the project if they are well maintained.

The governor said there are no new malnutrition-related deaths recorded in the Omaheke Region, but there are readmission cases, and this is due to a societal problem, especially a lack of efforts from parents during the festive season.
