Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has filed an urgent application in the High Court to set aside a subpoena compelling her to testify in a case involving the controversial Veterinary Corridor Fence, also known as the "Red Line."
The subpoena, issued by academic and activist Professor Job Amupanda, requires Nandi-Ndaitwah to testify in the upcoming trial set for January 20–31, 2025.
Amupanda seeks a declaratory order declaring the Red Line unconstitutional, arguing it discriminates against certain groups and lacks legal justification.
The Vice President's application argues that her compelled attendance constitutes an abuse of the court’s processes, citing provisions of the High Court Act allowing for the cancellation of subpoenas deemed unnecessary or abusive.
