The Executive Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security says the mutual visa exemption agreement between Namibia and China is strictly applicable to holders of diplomatic and official passports.
Ettienne Martitz, in a statement, debunked misinterpretations circulating on social media regarding the mutual visa exemption between Namibia and China.
He emphasised that the exemption is bilateral, meaning it applies equally to both Namibia and China.
Maritz said this is not the first time the country is entering into a similar visa exemption agreement, as it has done so in the past with several other nations, all of which followed the same principles.
The mutual visa exemption agreement between Namibia and China will come into force 30 days after the parties have notified each other of the completion of all necessary legal requirements to implement the agreement.
