The University of Namibia (UNAM) has announced the unveiling of a special collection of photographs commemorating the life and legacy of the late Dr. Sam Nujoma, who was UNAM’s inaugural Chancellor from April 1993 to November 2011.

The collection features iconic moments from Dr. Nujoma’s tenure as Chancellor, including the launch of key academic programs, groundbreaking ceremonies for the engineering campus in 2007 and the medical campus, and his personal academic journey, culminating in his Master’s degree in Geology in 2009.

The photographs also highlight Dr. Nujoma’s role in advancing higher education and his interactions with notable figures, including the late Presidents Dr. Hage Geingob and Robert Mugabe, Andimba Toivo ya Toivo, Theo Ben-Gurirab, Abraham Iyambo, Harold Pupkewitz, and former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari.

UNAM described the collection as a tribute to Dr. Nujoma’s enduring contributions to education and nation-building.
