The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, says the logistical preparations for the countrywide memorial services of the Founding President are well underway.
However, Theofelus says the state will not provide transportation to citizens who wish to attend the memorial services in the various regions.
She therefore called on members of the public to volunteer in providing transportation to their fellow Namibians.
Theofelus added that the education directorate in the various towns where the memorials will take place will provide information regarding the involvement of school-going children in those areas.
The body of the late, she says, will lay in state at all the memorial services before it proceeds to its next destination.
The countrywide memorial services are expected to kick off on Thursday, 20 February, at Etunda Village, Omusati Region.
