Members of the Public Service Commission (PSC) paid a visit to the house of the late Founding Father, Dr. Sam Nujoma, to pay their respects and share their condolences.
The members penned their messages in the book of condolences, sharing their sentiments and reflections on the legacy of Dr. Sam Nujoma.
"We came with a condolence message. A message of sympathy, of hope, and also to wish the family strength in this time of mourning. And also to reassure them that they are not alone and that we are all together in mourning the homegoing of our late president," said chairperson Salmon Jacobs.
Jacobs applauded the late president for his bravery in campaigning for Namibia's independence from South African apartheid rule.
He says that Nujoma was not just a remarkable man, but also a beacon of hope for the people of Namibia.
"It's a calling that this person is urged from within to say 'do this,' and therefore they have the desire to go out. So we are saying because of that our president was sent out just like the prophets and others that were sent to go and fulfil this mission. And he has fulfilled that mission."
