Justice Tjiumbu Muinjo, who led the recent group of returnees from Botswana has likened the late Founding President Sam Nujoma to a genius with natural powers like those of Hosea Kutako.
Muinjo said this during an an interview with MICT in Gam in the Otjozondjupa Region in remembrance of the late Nujoma.
"Sam Nujoma was not only born for Namibia, I think he was born for the whole world, because of what he did. Because you see, it was, in fact, not only him to start with. There is a blessing part of the game here. Before leaving Namibia, I'm told he was blessed by Hosea Kutako, which is very historical. And at that time, he did not go to any other person, any other leader, but he went right to Hosea Kutako. Because to me, they had the same, I would say, Sam Nujoma, in fact, was a genius. That's the way I should use it. He had very high natural powers or abilities. Then he went to the same person with the same powers as he had. And that was Hosea Kutako. Just to bless him and open the way for him to go and fight for the liberation struggle or to bring independence to Namibia, as it was said."
Muinjo said to face South Africa with a small liberation struggle movement like Nujoma did, was an act of bravery.
"The other thing I would, again, say is, may his soul rest in peace, but the same blessing that he got, he gave it to us. You see how Namibia enriched us, during his tenure, so Namibia has surpassed a number of governments, and it was just yesterday liberated, you know, just because of Sam Nujoma. And the other thing, I can see the dawn is coming, the dawn is coming of wealth. Now I can hear from somewhere, that at least we are just about to get the most precious mineral resource, gas and oil."
The late Founding President and Father of the Namibian Nation, Sam Shafishuna Nujoma died on 08 February this year in a Windhoek hospital.
He will be buried on the 1st of March at Heroes Acre in Windhoek.
