NAMDIA spokesperson Beverley Coussement explained that the disclosure of the recovered diamonds' value took over a month due to an independent valuation process aimed at ensuring accuracy and compliance with required procedures.
The total weight of the recovered diamonds is 4,511.50 carats.
However, NAMDIA has opted not to reveal their location, citing that this information is part of an ongoing police investigation.
The company has confirmed that more than N$40 million worth of diamonds have been recovered following the violent daylight robbery at its premises on January 18.
The majority of the stolen diamonds, valued at N$274.3 million, remain unaccounted for.
The heist involved diamonds worth N$314.9 million, making it one of the largest diamond robberies in Namibia's history.
