President Nangolo Mbumba emphasised the essence of teamwork in the execution of national duties.

He said this principle was well-demonstrated by himself and Vice-President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah in supporting the late President Hage Geingob during his time in office and at the Swapo Party.

Dr. Mbumba addressed the staff of the Presidency during a farewell gathering held in his honour at State House.

In seven days time, President Mbumba will be handing over the reins to President-elect Nandi-Ndaitwah.

As the incoming President, Nandi-Ndaitwah committed to work with the staff of the Presidency, a foundation laid by her predecessors.

She credited President Mbumba's one-year stint at the helm of the Presidency as one that will be remembered for generations to come.

The Mbumba couple had become more than national leaders, as they provided a shoulder to the staff following the deaths of the first and third Presidents in a space of one year.

The Presidency comprises the Office of the President, Vice-President, Minister in the Presidency, former Presidents and the First Spouse.

As of April 2023, regional governors have also been under the Presidency as well as the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).
