The Keetmanshoop Municipality has acquired and commissioned new earthmoving equipment valued at nearly N$6 million.
At the unveiling of the new yellow fleet, Mayor Annelize Knaus noted that the journey to acquire this equipment faced several challenges.
"The procurement of heavy equipment requires careful financial planning, resource allocation, and overcoming bureaucratic hurdles. At times, budget constraints, logistical delays, and administrative requirements seem insurmountable. However, through determination, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to our people, we successfully navigated these obstacles to realize this vision."
The mayor emphasized that the yellow fleet symbolizes growth, resilience, and a promise to the community.
She also stated that procuring this machinery demonstrates the council's dedication to service delivery and sustainable development.
"It reflects our commitment to equip our workforce with the necessary tools to perform their duties effectively. By investing in infrastructure, we are laying the groundwork for economic growth, attracting investors, and creating opportunities for our residents."
She encouraged the workforce to responsibly use and maintain the municipality's assets, which she described as essential tools for transformation that will shape a better future for generations to come.
