The Roads Authority (RA) says it will spend N$230 million to restore damaged roads in the four northern regions of Oshana, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, Omusati and Kunene.

RA Chief Executive Officer Conrad Lutombi says some roads were severely damaged following heavy rainfalls and have to be restored starting from next week Monday so that people who are planning to travel to their homes during the Easter holiday will be able to make use of those roads.

The roads will be rehabilitated by Kambwa Trading, Otesa, Nexus, Unique, Eponga, Emirates, and RCC, who will be deployed by Monday to work on affected roads.

Lutombi says the company has confidence in the capacity of the contractors to deliver on time. The company’s leadership is on the ground to assess the extent of the damage on the affected roads.
