Police in the Otjozondjupa Region have identified the woman found dead at the 5 Rand location in Okahandja on 25 April as 15-year-old Beyoncé !Kharuxas.

According to Regional Community Liaison Officer, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, a case of murder and rape has been opened.

The police report that !Kharuxas and her friends went to Dakaza Bar at around 22:00 on Friday night, where they drank alcohol.

“While at the bar, they were joined by two men who bought alcohol for them. Later, !Kharuxas informed her friends that she was going to the toilet, but she never returned. That was the last time they saw her,” Mbeha says.

Further information revealed that !Kharuxas left the bar with a 40-year-old English-speaking man at 01:00.

Her body was discovered the next day at 16:50 in the bushes by a passerby.

She was found dressed only in a black top.

No arrests have been made, and investigations continue.
