Students from different universities, colleges and learners participated in the 24th 'Chinese Bridge', a Chinese proficiency competition for foreign students, and the 18th edition of the competition for students in Namibia.
Since its establishment in 2013, the Confucius Institute has provided Chinese language lessons to nearly 8,000 individuals.
The competition, underway since last week, has seen six students successfully advancing to the final.
Sydney Teko, a student at the University of Namibia, and Mourisha Mariana, a Grade 10 learner at Chairman Mao Zedong High School, came out victorious in the Namibian version of the China Proficiency Competition, held at the University of Namibia.
The students were tested on their proficiency in the Mandarin language and speech.
They were also quizzed on their knowledge of Chinese culture, being evaluated based on their overall performance.
The winners received a trip to China as their prize.
Jennifer Hashipala, the former winner of the Chinese Proficiency Competition, shared her experience as she represented Namibia in China.
She highlighted how her dreams came true when she travelled to China, saying she was inspired by the education system and the vibrant daily life offered in China.
China's Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, said it is important for learners to be enhanced in language proficiency education through various means.
