The Ministry of Health and Social Services has dismissed reports of a complete stock-out at Rundu Hospital.
A media statement issued by its Executive Director, Penda Ithindi, states that the low stock levels previously reported at Rundu Hospital have been addressed. Further deliveries are expected to be made to Rundu State Hospital as per the supply orders.
He said the hospital also has sufficient malaria test kits, including goods currently in transit, to ensure continued availability.
Ithindi assured the public that there is no crisis of missing medicines or supplies at the hospital.
While the Ministry acknowledges periodic challenges regarding the sustainable supply of essential pharmaceuticals and clinical items, Ithindi indicated that sufficient supplies of the referenced pharmaceuticals remain available at the Central Medical Stores.
He stressed that the Ministry will continue to monitor and manage stock levels diligently to prevent any future disruptions.
