President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on traditional leaders to work alongside the government in combating domestic violence, particularly the abuse of women and children.
Speaking at the ongoing Omagongo Festival at Omhedi Palace in the Ohangwena Region, Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed concern over the rising cases of domestic violence in the country.
She described the barbaric acts as disheartening, especially witnessing innocent children being abused and murdered, and stressed that such practices must come to an immediate end.
She emphasised that collective efforts between the government and traditional leadership are essential to protecting the most vulnerable members of society and fostering safe and respectful communities.
