People with albinism often face challenges in various areas such as education and employment due to social attitudes and a lack of awareness.

Discrimination and prejudice are common, as some individuals encounter negative attitudes from employers who fail to respect the rights of people with albinism.

As a result, many people with albinism struggle to secure employment, with some employers being reluctant to hire them solely based on their condition.

Petrina Mwahafa, a person with albinism, highlighted that stigma and discrimination can have detrimental effects on individuals with albinism, impacting their mental health, social participation, and overall well-being.

These concerns were raised during the celebration of International Albinism Awareness Day, held in Eenhana, in the Ohangwena Region.

Sovita Joshua, Queen of Gospel in Namibia, gave a short motivation to persons with albinism, calling on them to have self-confidence if they want to achieve their dreams.
