As temperatures continue to drop, the Nest of Love Welfare organisation has stepped in, providing warmth and hope to some of the city's most vulnerable.
Over the weekend, the organisation's co-founder, Vecious Tapiso, led a winter relief drive, distributing warm clothes and blankets to the homeless currently resettled at the Katutura Youth Centre.
Tapiso was moved by the harsh conditions many people face during the winter months, as well as their own experience.
According to Tapiso, the upcoming training sessions will focus on practical and income-generating skills tailored to the needs of the homeless community to help them reintegrate into society and become self-sufficient.
Tapiso also called on other organisations, private businesses, and government stakeholders to play a more active role in tackling homelessness and unemployment.
The gesture has been met with appreciation by the beneficiaries, who say they often feel forgotten during the cold season.
