Florian Donatus, chairperson of the Erongo Regional Council, issued a strong appeal for collaboration between the mining, fishing, and business sectors and regional authorities to better support local communities.

He made this appeal during the ground-breaking ceremony for a new MSME park in Walvis Bay.

Donatus stressed that while several industries operate in the region, their contributions should go beyond donations of sweets, sanitary products, school uniforms, and stationery.

He urged these sectors to engage in sustainable and impactful partnerships that address the core needs of communities, particularly in infrastructure development and housing.

Donatus pointed out that the Erongo region, rich in natural resources, plays a vital role as the country's economic backbone, yet a significant portion of its population still faces poverty and hardship.

He emphasized the need for a collective effort to drive community transformation through strategic support and investment.

The regional council is prepared to engage with industries and businesses, encouraging them to submit proposals for projects that can create meaningful change.

Donatus' call for partnerships aims to promote sustainable development initiatives that benefit local communities and contribute to the broader economic growth of the region.
