The police in the Zambezi Region have joined other members of the force in the rest of the region for a 5-day cleanup campaign.
The cleaning campaign is happening at five police facilities in the region, partly to keep the youth busy.
Chief Inspector Kisco Sitali is the Community Liaison Officer for the police in the Zambezi Region.
He explained that five stations have been identified as the focus for the campaign. "We identified places like the Ngoma police station, the Simon Mutumba Mutmba training centre, the Katima Mulilo police station, Nova Base, and the Menias Brian Libuto police station in Kongola."
There are 46 volunteers, mainly from the youth crime prevention forums, who were identified to undertake this initiative.
"They will be paid for these five working days, as they are participating in this undertaking. I cannot just reveal the amount now, but they will be remunerated," promised Sitali.
