The National Youth Council (NYC) will sponsor two Miss Namibia 2025 finalists, Johanna Swartbooi and Alica Mokhatu, who both represent Okahandja.
The sponsorship came about after the contestants approached Okahandja Mayor Beatrice Katungondo, who referred them to NYC.
The N$10,000 per contestant sponsorship takes care of the two contestants' basic necessities ahead of the finals, with the aim of giving them a smooth journey towards the finals.
"What we are going to do today is just proudly announce our support to the two finalists from the 10. And on that, the National Youth Council will provide each one of them with a sponsorship to the value of N$10,000 each. As you continue your journey towards the Miss Namibia crown, please know that the council stands firmly behind you. So throughout until the last day, we will firmly stand behind you and encourage you, and I hope one of you will become Miss Namibia 2025," said NYC Director Calista Scwartz-Gowases.
Schwartz-Gowases said the institution stands ready to assist any young Namibian, depending on their purpose and needs.
Both Johanna Swartbooi and Alica Mokhatu expressed their gratitude to their benefactors.
The National Youth Council allocates a budget of N$30,000 for youth development in each constituency.
Young leaders are urged to send formal requests for assistance with their development efforts.
