Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the country's fallen national heroes, such as Founding President Sam Nujoma and the late President Hage Geingob.

The visit highlights India's long-standing solidarity with Namibia's liberation and development ambitions and its ongoing commitment to deepening bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister observed a moment of silence before laying a wreath.

Modi's visit to the Heroes Acre was rooted in Founding President Sam Nujoma's reference, in his autobiography, to India's vital support offered to Namibia during some of the most difficult periods of its fight for independence. 

That bond continues to shape relations between the two nations and reaffirm South-to-South cooperation.
