INTERVIEW | 32 journalists, editors on a familiarization visit to India

A delegation of 32 journalists and editors representing sixteen African countries is currently on a familiarisation visit to India.

The primary goal of this visit extends beyond immersing journalists in India's rich and diverse cultural tapestry.

It also seeks to familiarise them with significant development projects resulting from mutual bilateral cooperation between African nations and India.

President Geingob receives courtesy visit from Indian Minister of External Affairs

President Hage Geingob affirmed this during a courtesy call by Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the visiting Indian Minister of External Affairs, at State House.

Since establishing diplomatic relations 33 years ago, the cooperation between Namibia and India has deepened, with India providing extensive support in promoting the socio-economic development of Namibia.

India has been actively involved in training Namibians in various fields, including diplomacy, information technology, healthcare, education, and agriculture.

India External Affairs Minister in Namibia to strengthen bilateral relations

Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India, has arrived at the Hosea Kutako International Airport for an official visit to Namibia.

The visit is scheduled to last for three days.

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the bilateral relationship between India and Namibia. During the visit, Dr. Jaishankar will engage in discussions and meetings with Namibian officials to review and renew cooperation between the two countries.

NamPol's Major General Nainda elected Delegate for Africa and member of Interpol Executive Committee

NamPol's Deputy Inspector General for Administration, Major General Anna-Marie Nainda, has been elected as a Delegate for Africa and a member of the InterPol Executive Committee.

She was elected at the 90th Interpol General Assembly in New Delhi, India.

It was a celebratory atmosphere at the Hosea Kutako International Airport as NamPol's Inspector General, Lieutenant General Josef Shikongo, and Deputy Inspector General for Administration, Major General Anna-Marie Nainda, disembarked the plane.

Sara Ekondo wins Capricorn Foundation Food Waste Challenge competition

Sara Ekondo, from Awana Foods, which provides solutions to stem the sourcing of excess and b-grade produce from farmers, walked away with N$100,000 in prize money.

Ekondo was among the 101 applicants from six different countries, such as South Africa, Botswana, India, Portugal, Namibia, and Kenya, who participated in the Capricorn Foundation Food Waste Challenge competition.
