The government has reiterated its commitment to working hand in hand with faith-based organisations to ensure national stability, unity, and sustainable development.
Speaking on behalf of Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare at the Alliance of Christian Churches in Namibia's National Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, Advisor to the Prime Minister Asser Ntinda called for a renewed partnership between the Church and the State, anchored in a collective vision for transformation.
Addressing an audience of church leaders and civil society representatives, Ntinda praised the church's historic role during the liberation struggle.
He noted that it was within the church that real mobilisation took place and that African pastors had been foundational pillars in the movement toward independence.
"As we approach the upcoming elections, we lift our voices in prayer, asking God to preserve the unity and stability of our beloved nation. Namibia remains a beacon of peace in the region, and it is our collective responsibility to uphold that legacy through responsible leadership, active citizenship, and unceasing prayer."
The event was held under the theme "Church Strategic Engagement for Societal Transformation", which Ntinda described as timely and compelling.
He commended the alliance for its prophetic leadership and for anchoring the national conversation on the Church's evolving role in society.
"The Church is not only a spiritual institution; it is, and must continue to be, a strategic partner in national development. Through its moral authority and grassroots reach, the Church has a unique capacity to shape the values and direction of our nation."
Ntinda further stated that Namibians are eager to learn from best practices across Africa, particularly where governance, faith-based development, and community transformation are bearing tangible fruit.
The breakfast, which drew attendees from across denominations, also featured prayers for peace, youth empowerment, and ethical governance.
Organisers said the event was part of a broader effort to mobilise churches in nurturing moral leadership and social justice in the country.
